For those that prefer to not have a million cloud services running in their home and talking to foreign countries all day, you know how difficult it can be to find devices that you can manage entirely locally. On top of that, it seems like everything these days uses wifi so I was excited to find this zigbee valve for my homeassistant setup. Zigbee does use the same frequency (2.4ghz) as WiFi but it is more lightweight and doesn't eat up resources on your IP network (most notably, i/o scheduling-) so while it can theoretically interfere with wifi signals, in reality it probably won't, especially as most modern devices use 5Ghz, especially anything that's going to be using a lot of data or needing low latency like a PC.As far as the actual product design goes, the case is nothing special but its neutral design is unobtrusive. I feel like I would have appreciated brass threads on the male end rather than the plastic material, but if you aren't constantly changing what's attached to it, it should be fine. These plastic connectors are less prone to leaking--until they get worn out. If you aren't hooking it up to a permanent irrigation system i recommend adding a quick disconnect or leader hose... but you probably are hooking it up to a permanently installed system of some kind, right?

This sprinkler timer is a good choice. I can control it with my phone or my voice, which is super convenient. It has a rain delay feature, so I don't overwater my lawn. I can see how much water I'm using, which helps me save on my water bill. It works with my smart home system. It is easy to use and helps keep my plants healthy.

For a few years now, I’ve been using a Bluetooth water timer in our front yard, which has worked well for precise control. That led me to try the Haozee WiFi Sprinkler Timer, and it’s proven to be just as effective as my old timer, but with a wider range and more advanced features.One of the standout features of this model is the included Zigbee hub, which allows you to use the timer anywhere within range—at least 50 feet from the timer. This greatly expands its versatility compared to the old Bluetooth version I was using. The setup is pretty simple once you get the hub within range, but I did experience a bit of frustration with the Zigbee connection. Connecting it initially can be tricky, and maintaining the connection isn’t always smooth. I’ve had some occasional drop-offs, but once the connection is stable, the app provides excellent control. From there, you can set up everything with ease, and once it’s programmed, you don’t need to worry about it again, which is a huge plus for someone like me who values convenience.The automatic irrigation system is easy to program, and having the flow meter built into the system is a nice touch. I can track water usage and ensure that everything is functioning properly. The app is intuitive, and once everything is set up, the timer does a great job of running the irrigation system on its own without needing constant supervision.The only downside, aside from the occasional connectivity issue, is that you do need to ensure the hub is within range, or the system won’t work as intended. If you’re like me and don’t have a lot of need for constant adjustments, this won’t be a big problem, but for some, it may be a bit of an inconvenience.All in all, this timer has been a great addition to my yard, and it offers the control and flexibility I was looking for. Despite a few minor hiccups with connectivity, it’s been an efficient and effective solution for managing my garden irrigation. If you’re in the market for a smart irrigation system, this is definitely worth considering.

This is just what I needed for not forgetting to water my grass seeds regularly as well as not forgetting to turn the water off.Simple to set up and pretty easy to understand. The only thing I wish that this allowed was to have specific times to start for multiple times in a day, not just one time per day and then intervals. Overall - it worked exactly as I needed for my little seeds to make it!Amp this up even more with wifi connection and then you can adjust it and configure it easy!Great purchase

I got this Wi-Fi water switch for automatic watering and timing. I was surprised that it has a flow meter so can keep track of how much watering has been done, and water a certain volume rather than time. This also lets it alert you if there's no water flow (pinched hose, faucet off, etc.). Gateway is nice addition and supports Bluetooth and other ZigBee devices, though this prevents connecting to the water timer directly with a phone and requires the gateway and Wi-Fi connection. Unfortunately there is no Alexa/Google voice control support, which forces opening the app even for say turning off the water in ten minutes, much less convenient than a quick voice command.Water control unit is pretty sturdy, though it has plastic threads and requires an included metal adapter for the faucet side. Internals are covered in silicone to protect from water. No drips when turned off. Like others water turns off abruptly, causing some shaking of pipes unless you add a water hammer arrestor. It didn't work with rechargeable NiMH batteries, requiring the full 1.5V of alkaline.Tuya/Smart Life connection fairly smooth, for gateway and device. Interface is rich with immediate countdown and water volume-based sessions, and scheduled timed/volume-based sessions. It keeps track of previous watering, and weather. Smart action support is limited to just turning water on and off, with optional timer; there is no water volume-based mode, or ability to read total water volume.
